Nanoparticles are tiny particles that can anchor themselves to the surface. To do this, the nanoparticles need a specific anchor molecule. This molecule differs depending on the material of the surface on which they will stick to.

Current universal nano coatings stick mechanically. Only one universal nano coating is necessary for all surfaces.
Once the nano coating has been applied to the car, it can repel dirt and water. The car (or motorcycle, caravan, boat) stays clean much longer. On the windscreen this has the additional advantage that rain simply runs off to the side by the wind without the need for the windscreen wiper (lotus effect).
Imagine you are looking at a smooth surface, e.g. car paint under a microscope. The surface, which is smooth to our eye, suddenly appears very rugged with deep craters. The dirt inside these craters is very difficult to remove.
If nanoparticles are now settling on surface and crater, the contact area between dirt and surface is reduced. It’s like a pincushion. Only the needle tips touch the dirt. This means that the dirt no longer anchors itself firmly.
Nano coatings without anchor molecule (mechanical nano coatings) go one step further and fill such craters completely. Although this is still invisible to the human eye, it smoothes the surface noticeably.

Chemical nano-coatings repel dirt and water. But mechanical nano-coatings can do even more. By smoothing the surface, UV rays are reflected more evenly, making car paintwork, for example, much shinier. This even goes so far that the car looks like freshly washed from a distance. Only if you get close to it you can see that the car is not really clean at all.

Car paint ages through environmental influences like dirt or UV rays. A mechanical nano-coating acts like an invisible protective layer for the car. As a result, it ages optically much more slowly. A nano-coated car looks like new even after years.
1. CLEANING (important!)
All nano sealants require a clean, grease-free surface. Most suppliers offer their own cleaners, which are used for cleaning before coating. These cleaners are optimally adapted to the respective nano-sealant, usually not expensive and should definitely be used.
2. COATING
Many nano-sealants contain alcohol and have to be used quickly, as the alcohol (the carrier material) evaporates rapidly. Usually, such chemical coatings are only polished partially. It is important that solvent-bases sealants do not touch the rubber.
Mechanical nano coatings are dispersed in water and can therefore be applied to large areas, even in direct sunlight. The nanoparticles are activated by friction: the dried coating is polished with a microfiber cloth.

Tip 1: Clean yourself before nano coating
If you give your car into the hands of an expert to do the coating for you, you also have to pay the time for pre-cleaning. It is important that no dirt and grease is left on the surface so that the nano sealant adheres evenly. A thorough pre-cleaning is a precondition for a good result.
